Guide to Setting up an Authorized Auxiliary Web Site (D1NR)
- Unit must approve the creation of the site
by a vote of the members (flotilla) or the board (division). The
vote is recorded in the official minutes.
- A person (usually the CS officer) is
designated as responsible for the site. He/she must become
familiar with the standards for an auxiliary site as stated in
the
CS Guide and incorporate these in the unit site.
- Web manager with the concurrence of the
unit can choose to utilize the national server for the site, a
private server, or a commercial server. The national server is
available at no charge and can accommodate a normal sized site.
If the national server is to be used, the web manager should
submit a
D1NR SITE REQUEST FORM (online version) found in the forms
section of the District web site. Once a unit is allocated
server space, the DSO-CS will contact the web manager with the
user name and password for this site.
- Web manager ‘builds’ the site and may
upload the unit site to the server using FTP or FRONT PAGE.
Although the site is accessible, it may not be actively
promoted until final authorization is given (see below). When
the web manager feels that the site meets the required
standards, he/she will submit a
D1NR SITE REVIEW FORM (online version).
- The appropriate ADSO-CS, 1NR conducts the
initial review of the site and communicates necessary changes to
the web manager, as appropriate.
- DSO-CS, 1NR conducts the final local
review of the site and forwards site information to National
Reviewer for final review.
- If deemed to be in compliance with
national standards, the site is designated as ‘AUTHORIZED’ and
is listed as such on all appropriate sites and the web manager
notified.
